FISHING REPORT UPDATE - APRIL 20
This time of year can present many great fishing opportunities within southern Ontario.
Lets touch on a few things that's currently happening.
Of course the trolling action along the south shore of Lake Ontario from Grimsby to the Niagara River, continues to produce very good action. Lots of Salmon being caught now. 20-50 FOW is a good zone currently. Many Lake Trout & some Coho being caught there too. A mix of spoons & stick baits are working well.

There are still lots of Brown Trout to be caught in the shallower water too if you want.
Shore anglers, there still good trout fishing to be had for now by casting spoons, but soon the water will warm up further & those fish will push out into deeper water.

On Lake Erie, the ice has finally left! In NY waters its a great time to get into some very good Smallmouth action.
Perch fishing is getting very good too on Lake Erie, in Long Point Bay & Lake Simcoe.

While Walleye season is closed in most of the province, its open & very good in areas like the Upper Niagara, Detroit & St Clair Rivers

And of course it a great time to get the kids out to do some fishing for species like Carp & Catfish.

Trout season opens up for the inland waters this Saturday & so does Turkey season.
Get out and have fun!
