We are now into the last week of August already. With that brings the end of the Great Ontario Salmon Derby. Congratulations to Johnathon Harrison the overall winner with 31.14 lbs Also congratulations to Tony Bolger winning the Fish Off with 28lbs. We are seeing good numbers of Salmon being caught in close all around the lake now & it should be getting much better in the next week or two . Just about halfway through Summer already, but still lots of great fishing still to go!Let's talk about the really good Walleye action that is happening now on Lake Erie.   It seems like the Walleye fishing is on fire out of every Port currently. On the West-Central side, Burwell, Bruce Stanley, Glasgow, Erieau, etc.. are all producing fast limits of fish. FISHING REPORT UPDATE - MONDAY JULY 8   Wow! Wow! Wow! Amazing fishing continues out of nearly every port all along Lake Ontario. Its a Salmon bonanza like none other. Hopefully all of you have had some time recently to get out & enjoy the action. For most ports it seems like 60-100 FOW has been very consistent. Quite honestly of late the Salmon are not overly picky about baits. Spoons, flies & meat and all firing especially at sunrise & sunset. FISHING REPORT UPDATE - TUES JULY 2 If you have been missing out on the excellent fishing happening on lake Ontario, well then you really have been missing out.   The action has been nothing short of epic all over of late.
