FISHING REPORT UPDATE - AUGUST 5
As summer continues, does the great fishing action!
On Lake Ontario there has been a big improvement on the number of Salmon & trout being caught lately.
Locally from Grimsby to St Catharines, in 150 FOW - 220 FOW it has been very good of late.
Good numbers of Chinook Salmon are being caught down 70-100 feet.
Spoons, flasher/flies & herring (meat) rigs are working well.
There are also many Rainbow Trout & Coho Salmon being caught higher up. Small & medium size spoons working best.
Over on Lake Erie the amazing Walleye fishing continues! Quick limits of nice Walleye are being had from everywhere along the whole shoreline. For the most part 50-70 FOW seems to be very good. Fish are being caught all over the water column but 30-50 down seems pretty consistent. Worm harnesses, Worm burners, Crankbaits & small spoons all are working well with Jet Divers, Dipsy diver, lead core & down riggers.
Get out when you can!
