APRIL 1 - FISHING REPORT UPDATE

Weekend recap fishing report Well we have had a decent little window weather lately and things are getting good.

Lake Ontario fishing continues to be pretty good currently. The water is 39-40 degrees along most of the Niagara shoreline. Brown Trout fishing the last while has been very good when of course you find the right colored water. A mix of spoons & stick baits are getting it done.

A 1 color lead core with spoons has been a very good set up for many anglers. Popular spoon patterns vary with water conditions but Sea Sick, Angry Bird, Mongoose, Frog, orange crush, UV green & UV chatreuse Alewive are among the top ones. Stick baits colors are firetiger, clown, chartreuse, orange/gold & natural black/silver . We're hearing of the odd Chinook Salmon too. Lots of Lake trout too now out in 50-60 FOW. Not many coho yet. A few days coming this week with some wind & rain. It will keep us off the water, but will replenish the shoreline with colored water.

Don't forget the St Catharines Game & fish Assc. Spring Salmon Derby begins this Saturday!

Perch fishing is really good now too if you want to fill up on tasty treats. Crystal beach/Port Colborne, Long Point & Lake Simcoe all producing very well now. Lots of fun for the whole family.

The Walleye fishing is also starting to heat up on the Detroit River too. Make the trip if you never have.

As well if you like Crappie then that's option too. If you want Catfish, nows the time. So if you can kinda see, Spring is here and there are lots of excellent options now from boat or shore. Get out, go fishing and please share with us. Need help? You know where to find us.
