Fishing Report Update - Mon April 7
Now that the Spring weather is back so is the amazing fishing action in many locations for different species. We are definitely getting into Spring Peak time for many species.

Starting with Lake Ontario things are heating up.
We are into that time now where many species are crowding the shallower waters together. Brown Trout, Lake Trout & Chinook Salmon are all being caught. 10- 40 FOW. More browns in shallow, more Lake Trout out deeper & the Kings are all over in between. As the winds can change an area's temp & water color, exact location will vary but fishing is good from Grimsby to the Niagara River.
Stick baits and spoons are all working well. Put out a spread that you are confident running. Short lead cores or flat lines off planer boards, divers & riggers are all taking fish.

A few key baits have been Rapala J-11 orange/chartreuse, Bomber Long A firetiger, Yaleye Mooneye Adam's Helmet, Live Target Smelt, Dreamweaver Frog, & Michigan Stinger Green Glow Alewife, Moonshine bloody nose.

Detroit River Walleye is getting really good now. Get your 3/4 - 1oz jigs with 3.5 - 4" plastic minnow and enjoy some amazing fishing.

Steelhead in the Niagara & other rivers is pretty good now too. Always be sure of the open seasons before heading out.

Crappie fishing is great now too. Long Point, Chippewa, Welland River & the Kawarthas.

Perch on Erie, Simcoe & Couchiching is peaking now too.

Finally don't forget about Catfish. From boat or shore they provide lots of fun for everyone.

Get out when you can & enjoy.
