June 6 - Weekend Recap Fishing Report

June 6 - Weekend Recap Fishing Report

Brief fishing report.

Steady east winds over the weekend and very few boats got out on Lake Ontario. Add a full moon and it makes it tough out there.

How ever, from what we are hearing and seeing, there is lots of bait being located around the west end. It's only a matter to time until the predators find the food. Some north winds the next couple days and then it looks like a pretty good weekend forecast ahead! Things should set up nicely. It is now less than 2 weeks away from the Silver Salmon Challenge starting!

On Lake Erie, the perch fishing continues to be good in 60-70 FOW off Crystal Beach & Port Colborne but they are dispersing for the summer.

Walleye fishing is very good currently if you feel like making a drive to the west end of the lake.

Locally meanwhile, it is has been inside the Grand  River from Dunville to Maitland and is slowly starting to get better on the main lake.

Trolling stick baits shallow along the reefs, points & shoals will pay off.

Muskie season also opened in some some zones over the weekend.
