MAY 13 - FISHING REPORT UPDATE

Fishing report update for Monday May 13

On Lake Ontario the last few days we have seen the action picking up again. Good mixed bag catches reported from the Niagara Bar to Jordan.

With the water warming quickly, we are seeing numbers of fish being caught a little further offshore now 100-150 FOW seems to be a good starting point with some boats doing well all the way out to depths of 300 FOW. There were even some boats reporting good catches off the North shore as well.

Spoons are working well higher in the water column & flashers with flies & herring strips down deeper. Exciting news over the weekend,

Larry Schroeder has weighed in a 26.54 lb Salmon to take the lead in the St Catharines Game and Fish Association Spring Salmon Derby!

The Port Dalhousie 3x3 Salmon Classic happening May 18-20. Registration deadline is Thursday May 16, 5pm

Some very good Smallmouth bass fishing is happening in the NY waters of Lake Erie.

Pike fishing has been good at Long Point bay as well.

Walleye season has opened up now in most areas of southern Ontario. The rest of Ontario opens this coming Saturday. As always we encourage you to check the MNR fishing regulations for exceptions & slot limits for different zone & lakes.

It's a great time now too to get the kids out for sunfish, crappie, catfish, carp & freshwater drum. Enjoy the great weather & long weekend that's coming up soon!
