May 29 Weekend Recap Fishing Report

Sorry for the lag in reports lately, busy times!

Wow what can you say about the excellent fishing & weather lately?!

Starting with Lake Ontario, we have seen MUCH better fishing again all along the South shore. Chinook Salmon are spread out from Port Dalhousie to Fifty Point. Best depths seem to be between 80-200 FOW generally.

The last couple weeks the North shore has also been producing well from Humber Bay to Scarborough Bluffs.

In both locations, Salmon are being caught all over the water column. Meat rigs (herring ) fished deeper continues to produce better quality size kings. Spoons & flashers/fly combos also taking fish higher up. (Stay tuned for upcoming video clip soon as we talk more about herring rigs and how to fish them)

More good news, we are seeing a lot more Coho Salmon again and the Rainbow Trout (Steelhead) are also showing up a little more regularly.

On Lake Erie lots is happening too. Perch are still being caught in good numbers 60-70 FOW off Crystal Beach and Port Colborne.

The early season bass in NY continues to be great too!

And yes, Walleye is starting! Some nice fish being caught shallow along the reefs, points and shoals from Fort Erie to Maitland. Stickbaits with planer boards are producing best.

Speaking of walleye, the seasons are now open all over the rest of Ontario and we're hearing of great fishing from all over in various regions. Some zones even have bass open too.

Next up, Muskie seasons will start soon too.
