Some cool but fishable weather on Lake Ontario this weekend. Also the start of the St Catharines Game and Fish Association's 46th annual Spring Salmon Derby. Details for that can be found here www.scgfa.ca
Many boats were out and some good fishing was had all along the shoreline. many browns in shallow from 8-15 FOW 7 some Lake Trout also being caught in there and also out to 50 FOW. Also heard of a nice Chinook caught aboard FINtastic Sportfishing on Sunday! Water is still cold 37-39° in most areas. Small Bay Rats, jointed Rapala's & Live Target Smelt were good as well as spoons like Stingers & Dreamweaver Super Slims.
There was lots of ice flowing down the Niagara River over the weekend. It should be clear soon & the steelhead fishing should be getting good again.
Will also be time to go for perch on Lake Erie. We even had some entries for the #catfishcapture .
Reminder Tuesday night, the Strait Line Anglers Club are back having their first in-person meeting. All are welcome to attend, 7pm @ the Grimsby Legion basement.
