Fishing, Lake Ontario, Lake Trout, Salmon, walleye -

On Lake Ontario now, fishing is very good if you want to catch a mixed bag of fish. Lots of Lake Trout currently it seems from Bronte all the way towards Dalhousie. 80-130 fow is loaded. There are some nice Chinook Salmon in the mix too, the Lakets are just out-numbering them for now. There are Rainbows and Coho too, it's been a little better for them a bit further offshore. Small bright colored spoons 20-40 feet down working good.   The North shore is also producing some Chinook too along the Toronto shores. Herring rigs are producing good...

Brief fishing report.Steady east winds over the weekend and very few boats got out on Lake Ontario. Add a full moon and it makes it tough out there. How ever, from what we are hearing and seeing, there is lots of bait being located around the west end. It's only a matter to time until the predators find the food. Some north winds the next couple days and then it looks like a pretty good weekend forecast ahead! Things should set up nicely. It is now less than 2 weeks away from the Silver Salmon Challenge starting! On Lake Erie, the...

Sorry for the lag in reports lately, busy times! Wow what can you say about the excellent fishing & weather lately?! Starting with Lake Ontario, we have seen MUCH better fishing again all along the South shore. Chinook Salmon are spread out from Port Dalhousie to Fifty Point. Best depths seem to be between 80-200 FOW generally. The last couple weeks the North shore has also been producing well from Humber Bay to Scarborough Bluffs. In both locations, Salmon are being caught all over the water column. Meat rigs (herring ) fished deeper continues to produce better quality size kings....

Can't really complain too much about the weather this past weekend! Over on Lake Ontario the fishing remains pretty good. For the Chinook Salmon, the challenge is that many of them have moved currently in the NY side. (Always a good idea to have a NY license ) It's not uncommon to see this scenario as its kind of like a game of "tug of war" as the warm Niagara plume shifts and drives the kings up & down either shoreline. Some east winds coming so hopefully they come back to again soon For now we are also seeing many...
